GILBERT MARCUS, 85, of BRADLEY BEACH and Lake Worth, Fla., died Friday, Sept. 21. He was the owner of Morris Aaron Bicycles and Repairing Inc, a bicycle shop in Elizabeth, for 45 years before retiring in 1987. Born in Roselle, he lived in Linden for 40 years before moving to Bradley Beach 20 years ago. He was a past president of the Lions Club in Elizabeth, a past president of The New Jersey Bicycle Dealers Association, a member of The P.A.L. in Elizabeth, a member of the Masons in New York, and an avid golfer and fisherman. He is survived by Hannah, his beloved wife of 65 years; a son, Dr. Robert Marcus and wife, Betsy; daughters, Gail Lewis and husband, Martin, and Janie Phillips and husband, Jonathan; a brother, Morris Marcus; a sister, Edith Ross; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels in Ocean Township. Interment took place at B'nai Israel Cemetery in Elizabeth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hadassah.
